Construction of a pallet scale

 

A pallet scale is a practical device for weighing pallets. Its own weight is much lower than that of traditional platform scales. Four strain gauge sensors are installed in the platform of the pallet scale, which are selected according to the capacity of the device. The sensors are screwed into feet that allow leveling of the pallet scale. The sensors are connected in a summing box, from where a measuring cable goes to the weight indicator. The indicator converts the signal from the sensors and displays the weight of the load on the pallet scale display.

 

Proper setup and conditions for using a pallet scale

 

Pallet scales can operate in a temperature range of -10 to +40 degrees Celsius. Our pallet scales are resistant to moisture. However, it is important not to place the pallet scale in areas where it will be exposed to shocks or vibrations. The surface should be dry, flat, and even.

 

What to consider when using a pallet scale

 

Strain gauge sensors

When using a pallet scale, the goods should be placed gently in the center of the platform. Dropping the weighed goods could damage the sensors. The pallet scale should not collide with movement in the warehouse space. The sensors are located at the corners of the device, and if a forklift were to run over them, it could damage them.

 

Measuring cable

The measuring cable of the pallet scale should be laid in a way that avoids running over, stepping on, or cutting it. If there is a risk of the cable being chewed by rodents, it should be protected with a metal conduit along its entire length. If the measuring cable of the pallet scale is damaged, repair involves not only replacing the cable but also calibrating the pallet scale. Damage to the measuring cable can also cause damage to the mainboard in the weight indicator.

 

Weight indicator

It should be placed in a convenient location for operation and protected from damage. Pallet scale indicators are designed to be placed on a tabletop.

 

Platform scale

In the case of a platform scale, it is important to keep it clean.

 

In addition to these four main components of a pallet scale, regular inspections are very important. The pallet scales we offer are legalized, so such an inspection should be carried out every 25 months.
