Ladders — how to choose a safe one

Ladders are chosen by working height, frequency of use and place (home, warehouse, industry). Professional ladders should meet EN 131, with stable steps and anti-slip feet.

Aluminium ladders 

Storage ladders make it easier to work at low heights in warehouses and factories. During domestic work, folding ladders can also come in handy. Aluminium ladders are essential for the proper functioning of these places. A good storage ladder should be easy to use, stable and durable. Above all, a folding ladder should be safe. Hook ladders

Stepladders are characterised by their lightweight and uncomplicated design. Thanks to the raw material used, aluminium stepladders are a very good solution for construction companies, renovation companies and many others, or for domestic use. Aluminum stepladders withstand weather conditions very well and are not subject to mechanical damage. Therefore, PALETEO stepladders can be used for a very long time. Safety is confirmed by the EN 131 standard, which is met by every single lean-to ladder in our shop. In addition, the well-shaped steps of the aluminum stepladder and the stabilizer bar also guarantee comfortable work.

2-section and 3-section ladders

2-section ladders are well suited for work at low to medium levels. They are often used on construction sites and in industry. 3-section ladders are multifunctional due to their segmented design. 3-part ladders can be disassembled in several variations, for example as a freestanding ladder or as a long-reach stepladder model. 

Articulated ladders 

This type of aluminium ladder is the perfect solution for special tasks. They offer the possibility to set them up in many configurations. An articulated ladder can be unfolded as a working platform. 

Ladder scaffolding

A ladder scaffold consists of two stepladders and a working platform. Ladder scaffolding is dedicated to professional use. These products can be used both indoors and outdoors. The assembly of the folding ladder scaffold is very quick and easy - no additional tools are required. Once dismantled, the folding ladder scaffold takes up little space. As a result, transporting the equipment is no problem and does not burden the company with high costs. In addition, the low weight of the folding ladder scaffold makes it possible to move the equipment efficiently from place to place. The platform of the ladder scaffold has enough space to accommodate all the necessary tools and other items. Despite its low empty weight, the ladder scaffold has a high load capacity. As with ladders, the aluminium scaffolding in the PALETEO range meets all quality and safety standards. In order to be certified, ladders and scaffolding are subjected to strength and load tests. 

Safety in the use of aluminium ladders and scaffolding

However, it is important to remember to carry out periodic inspections of ladders and scaffolding, at least once a year. This inspection may only be carried out by an authorised person with the appropriate training. The result of such an inspection must be documented. Inspections should additionally be carried out when it is noticed that the safety of the work may be endangered, for example due to any modifications, the influence of weather conditions and as a result of damage.
