Plastic crates
Plastic crates are light, durable transport containers made of plastic (HDPE/PP) for moving and storing goods in the food and industrial sectors. Available in food-grade versions (for bread, meat, fruit and vegetables) and industry versions (chemical, pharmaceutical, electronics, cosmetics), in euro sizes 600x400, 400x300 and 300x200 mm, as stackable or nestable.
How to choose a plastic crate?
Three parameters matter: the size (matched to the 1200x800 euro pallet), the wall and base design (solid or ventilated) and the stacking method (stackable at a fixed height, or nestable one inside another when empty). Ventilated crates provide airflow (fruit, vegetables), while solid ones protect small and loose goods.
Types of crates
| Type | Features | Application |
|---|---|---|
| Food-grade (E2 and euro) | food-contact material | bread, meat, vegetables, catering |
| Ventilated | perforated walls and base, airflow | fruit, vegetables, washed parts |
| Solid | closed walls and base | small and loose goods, industry |
| Nestable | nest one inside another when empty | reverse logistics, space saving |
Exact dimensions, heights and versions (with lid, with latches) are given in the product cards.
Material and hygiene
The crates are made of HDPE/PP — resistant to moisture, chemicals and frost, easy to wash and recyclable. Food-grade versions are made of food-contact material. Euro 600x400 crates are modular to the 1200x800 pallet, which makes palletising easier.
Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a ventilated and a solid crate?
A ventilated crate has perforated walls and base (airflow, e.g. fruit and vegetables); a solid one has closed walls protecting small and loose goods.
Are the crates suitable for food?
Yes, the food-grade versions are made of food-contact material. Approval details are given in the product cards.
