Terms of Use and Proper Setup of a Pallet Scale

Published on: 04-05-2022

The platform of the pallet scale is U-shaped in order to facilitate the placement of the load on the scale using a pallet truck. The pallet scale has built-in four strain gauge sensors selected according to the load capacity. In order to function properly, the pallet scale is calibrated with certified weights. Scales with legalization are additionally checked by an external certification body.

The main advantage of pallet scales is their low weight compared to other weighbridges. Pallet scales are ideal for use in halls and warehouses. Powder-coated ones will do better in covered areas. Due to the characteristics of the measuring devices, they can be used at temperatures from -10⁰C to + 40⁰C. For proper weighing, they should not be placed in rooms exposed to vibration or impact. Also, be sure to place the pallet scale on a dry, level and flat surface. The location for the pallet scale should also be free from proximity to heat sources and air blasts.

Plastic pallet for warehouse automation: why dimension and repeatability decide

Automated systems (AS/RS, conveyors, wrappers) require pallets with a repeatable dimension, constant weight and a flat underside — so HDPE plastic pallets outperform wood. No protruding nails or splinters means no line jams.
