Galvanised self-unloading containers — durable waste cradles

Hot-dip galvanised self-unloading containers (cradles) are steel containers with a safe tipping mechanism, designed for use in harsh storage and production conditions and outdoors. The zinc coating protects the steel from corrosion, and the design itself (reinforced edges, fork pockets, tipping lock and mast chain) ensures stable transport and controlled emptying directly from a forklift.

What are the benefits of galvanisation?

Resistance to rust and weather conditions (rain, snow, salt spray).
Less need for coating renovation than with painting.
Longer container life in humid, ‘dirty’ environments.

How it works in practice

The operator lifts the cradle with a forklift, drives it over the container and unlocks the bolt (with a lever or cable). The body tilts, the load is emptied in a controlled stream, and after emptying, the container returns to its working position and locks itself.

Application

Scrap metal and metal shavings, construction waste, light fraction debris.
Wet and dirty fractions (e.g. after rain) — galvanisation withstands outdoor exposure well.
Segregation of recyclable materials: cardboard, foil, glass, wood.
Transhipment areas, ramps, outdoor yards where containers are often left in the open air.

Note: galvanisation is not a ‘food-grade’ coating like stainless steel. If the process requires frequent washing with aggressive chemicals or direct contact with food, consider the stainless steel version — but for waste management and outdoor work, galvanisation will be more economical and perfectly adequate.
