Types and Applications of Warehouse Trucks

Published on: 20-09-2022

The first division is between manual warehouse trucks and powered warehouse trucks. Manual warehouse trucks can also be divided into several groups:
Hand pallet trucks are widely used in various places, including warehouses and stores. These types of warehouse trucks are very versatile as they can transport not only pallets with goods but also large, heavy, or unwieldy loads.
Hand truck trolleys are ideal for transporting lighter loads over short distances. These warehouse trucks work well on ramps, yards, and in warehouses. They are suitable for transporting crates, containers, cartons, bags, and gas cylinders.
Platform trucks are an interesting solution for workshops, but they are also useful for quick transportation of office materials, food products, and other lightweight items.
Box trucks are designed for transporting Euro crates. One great advantage of this warehouse truck is the ability to transport multiple crates at once. Box trucks are chosen for bakeries, shops, and processing plants.
Another type of manual warehouse truck is the mobile work table. They allow for the transportation and lifting of loads to a low height.
Powered warehouse trucks available in our online store PALETEO are electric pallet trucks with and without masts. These warehouse trucks do not require manual force during operation. Their load capacity ranges from 1200 kg to 1500 kg.

What to consider when choosing a warehouse truck?
The most important aspect is determining the appropriate construction of the warehouse truck for the loads that will be transported on it and the warehouse space. After selecting the appropriate type of warehouse truck, the next step is to consider the load capacity, turning radius, and cargo space size. Additional factors to consider include driving speed, lowering and lifting speed of forks/platform, lifting and lowering height, and the ability to overcome inclines. However, the key parameter when choosing a warehouse truck is the load capacity. The smallest warehouse trucks can carry a maximum of 250 kg, while the most efficient warehouse trucks can easily lift loads ten times larger. The turning radius is particularly important when maneuvering in tight traffic areas. In the case of manual warehouse trucks, maneuverability is not a major issue, but for powered lift trucks, it can be a significant criterion for device selection.

Box pallets for fruit and vegetable harvest – how to choose a ventilated box pallet

Ventilated plastic box pallets made of HDPE are the best choice for harvesting fruit and vegetables: perforated walls provide airflow and rapid cooling of the crop, while food-contact certification and easy washing ensure hygiene. A standard 1200 × 1000 mm model holds around 680 l and carries up to ~4500 kg of static load – ideal for orchards, farms, warehouses and cold stores.
